Battery on my brand new keypad

The battery on my brand new keypad is apparently supposed to last months, but I have only had it for 24 hours and already it is showing as only half full and it has been plugged in to the mains for the last 8 hours (my understanding is that it contains a rechargeable battery).

Hi @user37630. Correct. With a fully charged battery, your Keypad should last months with average use. Try troubleshooting the Keypad with the steps listed in this Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042155432-Troubleshooting-your-Ring-Alarm-Keypad-2nd-generation-).
