Why is ring so low quality?

I have 2 wired doorbells with perfect wifi connection and power supply. The quality of the image is embarrassing. Ridiculously grainy image, anything further than 40 ft away and people look like a ghost in the image. Motion detection is awful and the motion it does pick up starts recording 20-30 seconds after the event and despite my settings saying record for 120 seconds, it still stops after 30. Is this being purposely degraded to force the premium plan?

Hi @user_6393ed. I recommend going over this Help Center page on what Motion Settings you can adjust to help improve your Motion Detection. https://ring.com/support/articles/951a8/Motion-Detection-for-Ring-Devices. As for your recordings not recording 120 seconds, try rebooting your Doorbell using the Ring app to see if it helps. You will find the option to reboot it on your Doorbell Device Health page. You also want to make sure it has a good signal strength. https://community.ring.com/conversations/ring-device-tips/how-it-works-your-ring-device-rssi-good-vs-poor/65800f1051f6e6fe781953cf. I hope this helps.
