Ring Video Doorbell
Video Doorbell doesn't connect to Wifi Pod
I am using video doorbell pro 2. I've a Wifi pod in my house. The issue is the doorbell doesn't want to connect to the wifi pod, it prefer the gateway despite the poor signal, I've tried every thing like change the location of pod almost every where in the house, reset the doorbell and rest the modem still connect to the modem not the pod. Sometimes It connects to the pod then goes back to the gateway. When it connects to the pod gives RSSI-40 signal, but gateway provides RSSI-75 which makes it freeze. Any one can help?

Is there any way that prevent the door bell not to choose the 5G network? The issue is that I am using wifi pod which can't separate the network. To separate the networks, then I need to remove the wifi pod, and that will make things worse

CHi @adawood, happy to chime in for Tom here. The Doorbell Pro 2 will only connect to the wifi network you have selected for it, there is no option to have it filter between specific networks such as 2.4GHz or 5GHz networks. If there's any way to make a separate network that is only 2.4GHz rather than dual-band, this might help to ensure a stable connection for your Doorbell.

I've done that. I disable the 5Ghz, but still, the doorbell connects to the Gateway, not the wifi pod. I think this is the issue. The doorbell always prefers the Gateway rather than the wifi pod. Dispute strong wifi strength from the wifi pod. This is the only device at my home having this issue. I have a smart door lock and thermostat close to the doorbell and connect to the wifi pod with no problems.

C@adawood Is your wifi pod a completely separate network SSID and password, or is it the same as the main wifi router? If there's an option to change the network name on the wifi pod, I'd recommend doing that so you can choose that network specifically to have your Doorbell Pro connect to. The Doorbell Pro is only going to connect to the network that you have selected for it.

This may be able to be accomplished through your router or access point settings, however, network options will vary by type. Our support team will be happy to take a closer look at options that might work better for you. Some neighbors have reported success with adding a [Chime Pro](https://ring.com/products/chime-pro-gen2) when multiple access points are not cooperating. Hi @adawood. Does your wifi pod consolidate your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi networks? If so, this is most likely the reason that it is not staying connected to it. When your network is configured to automatically switch between 2.4/5 GHz, the Ring Pro 2 could lose its connection. Try connecting it to a dedicated 2.4 GHz network to see if that improves your concern.
