Video doorbell 3 stops charging despite 24VA doorbell transformer - why is that?

troubleshooting

Hello everyone,

We use a video doorbell 3 and this one as a bell transformer (https://www.eaton.com/de/de-de/skuPage.272484.html) - Eaton TR-G2/24 - switched as 24V 1A - in the ring app also appears that the battery is receiving power and is marked as “hardwired”). Nevertheless, after less than 1 day the battery percentage display has fallen by almost 10%. We have already checked the settings and used a different battery. why isn’t the battery charging? is the wrong transformer being used? If so, which one would it have to be based on the specifications? Wouldn’t the battery have to stay at a constant 100% like with cameras? I don’t want to have to constantly recharge the batteries despite the wiring. What is the best way to proceed here?

thank you for further information about this

Best regards

Hi @RU24M. Checking your settings and trying another battery were excellent troubleshooting steps to try. You also want to make sure that cold weather is not what is causing your battery to drain, even though it is hardwired. We also have this Help Center article with other steps to try. If you have tried these steps and are still having the same concern, give our support team a call for further assistance.
