Unable to join Ring wifi for setup
Using the Ring app on my phone I've been able to get the doorbell to start charging but when the "Join Ring" wifi dialog box comes up I get an "Unable to join" message after pressing the join button. Any ideas on how to fix it?

did you push the orange button on the back of the unit and then go to the wifi list in your phone and click on ring?

GI am also having the same problem! I have followed the detailed set-up and manual set-up, always end up pressing the orange button. In all cases, I get the "Unable to join Ring wifi for set-up" message. Also, there are no "Ring" networks available on my iPhone 10r set-up page. Tom Gough

JThe solution for me was fully charging the doorbell before trying to connect.

GUnfortunately, my doorbell is a direct connect to the old doorbell wires.

I also have the same issue. I can connect to the doorbell but the apps keep crashing everytime I try to get the doorbell to connect to our wifi.

I was able to setup 1 of 2 rings. The 2nd one I’m unable to join the Ring wifi. I reset device and turned off Bluetooth and cellular per recommended troubleshooting. Power supply is the Ring brand adapter. Still unable to join, and Ring wifi network name is not visible when attempting to manually connect per the troubleshooting recommendation. This is clearly a known problem and Ring/Amazon should figure this out or offer up full refunds for these defective products.

Installed a Ring Doorbell Pro in late Dec 2020 to replace my standard doorbell (2-wire). After 50 days, the Pro went offline and couldn’t reliably connect to the WiFi. After trying everything (cycled power to router, Pro device, etc.), decided to check the doorbell copper wire connections at the device. The wires looked dark (not coppery), so scraped off the corrosion with a knife until the wires were bright copper. Reattached wires and added the device again. Working like a champ!

When setting up your Video Doorbell in the Ring app, one of the early steps will be to connect to the broadcasted "Ring setup" access point. This access point will be prompted in the Ring app and will also appear in your mobile device wifi settings > available networks list while the Ring device is in setup mode. Please ensure there is not a VPN enabled on your mobile device, as the Ring app is not compatible with the use of a VPN. If possible, try using another mobile device or tablet for this setup. Other than connection, this step of the Ring device setup can also be impacted by lack of power. Visit our Help Center and search terms like "Installation" or "Wiring" to find some great resources specific to your Video Doorbell model. For further assistance with this, please reach out to our support team. You can get in touch at one of these numbers, or on Facebook @Ring by sending a private message.
