I just installed (hard wiring) the Ring Doorbell (Gen 2). I'm having contractors coming in to do some work. How can I temporarily disable the motion detector while they are here?

Hi @kre2153. You can utilize the [Motion Snooze](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000047206-How-to-Use-Motion-Snooze-and-Global-Snooze) feature to temporarily silence motion alerts from your Doorbell for a specified amount of time. The motion would still be detected, but you wouldn't be notified of it. If you have a Ring Protect plan, or the 30 day Ring Protect trial, you can also use the [Modes settings](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036107792-Control-All-of-Your-Ring-Devices-with-Modes) to turn motion detection off under a specific Mode, then swap to that Mode while the contractors are there. I hope this information helps!
