Smart Alerts just don't work consistently (if at all)
Hi everyone Can anyone help with this? I used to be able to choose "motion alerts" or "just people" on Pro Doorbell. This has worked well on my Ring Pro Doorbell for almost 4 years. Since update to Smart Alerts settings when I set to 'people only' although everything is recorded the notifications are inconsistent. I can stand right in front of my camera and I receive no alert. If I disable smart alerts and just have "(all) motion" everything works fine. I have spoken to two people at Ring we have been through all the settings, reinstalled app, rebooted bell, reinstalled it. No difference. Second guy at Ring tried to tell me this was normal Ring needs to look at recording and decide if person or not and if holding something etc may decide not to send alert. I'm afraid if that is the case it's too clever for it's own good. I notice a lot of others have this issue. Could we please go back to what we had before? This isn't progress! We are paying quite a a bit now for an inferior product. At another property I have a Tapo camera which has an easy toggle button to people or all motion. Works great. Wondering whether to ditch Ring for that. Just a micro card no subscription.
