Showing no charge, not spinning just solid white after charge

My ring doorbell (1st gen) is a battery charging version and has stopped working. It ran out of charge and I have since charged it, the front ring is white/light blue in colour and is solid, not flashing or anything…When I try and hold down the orange button after a while it just loses the white/light blue circle and as soon as I let go of the orange button it returns, never flashes or anything…Is this common? Is the battery faulty? Or something else? I don’t know how to do a hard reset as it doesn’t seem to be able to be taken apart even after removing all the mini screws at the back?Thanks in advance
