Ring Video Doorbell 4 on an existing 3+ mount?

Thinking about picking up a Ring Video Doorbell 4 to replace my Ring Video Doorbell 3+. Would like to use the existing 3+ mount if possible. anyone tried this and succeeded and/or failed? Thanks in advance.

From the article, "The Video Doorbell 4 is usable with earlier Video Doorbell’s charging cables. Ring Video Doorbell 4 is fully compatible with all Video Doorbell 3 and 3 Plus accessories."
