Ring Video Doorbell
Ring Setup on Google Nest Wifi
I cannot get my Ring Video Pro to connect to my wifi network. I have done tons of research and apparently the issue is that I have a Google Nest router which does not separate the 2.4g and 5g networks. I have called my internet provider, google, and ring and every time I get to the wifi connection portion it says my password is incorrect (even though I know it is correct). The most frustrating part is it tells me it cannot connect because the password is wrong, and doesn't even give me the option to try anything else. So I am stuck canceling the setup and starting over every time. I have probably spent at least 6 hours trying to get this to work. I cannot be the only person who has a ring doorbell and a google router.

I'm having the exact same issue as jafields above, and have not been able to resolve this. I followed your suggestions, Justin, thanks. But the help article didn't lead to a solution for this issue, and the customer service rep I spoke with had me walk outside to be far away from the google nest wifi pro router thinking maybe that would trick it to use 2.4g. After over 10 tries, she concluded that it's not possible to connect a ring video doorbell (new 2023 model) to a google wifi nest pro router since there's no control on the router to change it to 2.4g. This cannot be the case - I imagine there's a way to connect a new ring doorbell to a google nest wifi pro router. Any suggestions? Thanks! Maureen

CHi @user57435. Routers can vary widely in their settings and performance. Most dual-band routers allow you to separate the bands. In addition to the troubleshooting steps suggested in the marked solution, you can also try the steps listed [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/218144403-In-app-Setup-Failing-Due-to-Router-or-Modem-Issues), as well as try changing your password to exclude any special characters. If none of these work, then the only option after that is to follow up with our [support team](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406#callus) to see if they have any other options available.

Hi @jafields. Other than not being able to separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks on your router, it could be other potential settings on your router causing your Doorbell not to connect. This Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/205385394-What-Ports-Do-I-Need-to-Open-in-My-Firewall-for-Ring-Doorbells-and-Chimes-) has other router settings that you can look into for our Ring devices to work and connect properly. If you have tried these steps and are still having the same concern, give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support. Because you have previously worked with our support team, you may request to speak with our advanced support team to take a deeper look into your concerns.
