Ring Doorbell Gen 2 Takes A Long Time Before It Can Be Pressed Again
troubleshooting

Hi.  I have a Ring Doorbell Gen 2 and a Doorbell Pro. The Gen2 doorbell has started to take between 30 seconds and a minute before it can be pressed again, whilst the Pro takes about 10 seconds or so.   When the Gen 2 bell is pressed it rings the chime as expected and the blue light spins, (just as does the Pro, but that then gone out), but after about 10 seconds the blue lights change to on permanently for another 10 to 15 seconds, sometimes more, before returning to spinning blue and finally going out.

Hi @peterlb. After someone presses the button on the Ring Doorbell, it will begin to record this event. During that time, pressing the button again will not trigger as a new event. You would need to wait until the Doorbell is done recording and processing the current event. Activating the Live View will also prevent the Doorbell from triggering a new event, as the Doorbell is already actively recording the Live View. I hope this helps answer your questions.

Hi Caitlyn, and thanks for the response. Yes, I can understand that, but it takes much longer than it used to do and certainly longer than my new Doorbell Pro.   Unless there's a way of altering the recording length I guess I'll just have to live with it.
