Ring Video Doorbell
Ring Doorbell 1 Not Showing Chime in Settings
Hello, I have a Ring Video Doorbell (first generation), and when it was first setup, the mechanical chime worked, but after some time it stopped ringing the mechanical chime. I tried factory resetting it, and trying a different Ring account, but it still doesn't work. In the settings page of the Ring app, it doesn't seem to show any settings for the mechanical chime. I have checked the wiring, and in the app it shows it is hardwired. Any solutions to this issue would be appreciated.

Hi @JonasA! The best next step here will be to double check the chime kit is working by itself. This is a good sign of sufficient power and that the chime kit did not stop working itself. In the Ring app, on your Video Doorbell page, there is a Device Settings option. Tapping Device Settings will present you with an option for in home chime settings. This is where you can select Chime type, depending on Video Doorbell model. If this option does not exist for your Doorbell generation, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). I'm having the same issue, mechanical chime setting under general settings is gone, no way to enable and the mechanical doorbell is no longer working. Has nothing to do with a chime kit this is a mechanical doorbell hardwired. Been working for years, stopped working just noticed these last few days that the bell wasn't working. The book says to enable by going to general Settings”, and then “Doorbell Chime Type”, them make sure “Mechanical” is chosen in the drop-down menu, and that “Ring my in-home doorbell” is selected. There is no longer an option under "General Settings" for "Doorbell Chime Type" it just has device name, location, and then ringer volume under Ringer. No longer showing anything for mechanical ringer. Battery is fully charged doorbell works if I remove the camera and touch the leads together, it seems its been disabled in the camera and I have no way to turn it back on.

WCall to support and then working with Tier 2 support to ensure everything that needed to be enabled on the back end was enabled, coupled with a complete reset of the device resolved the issue.

JIs there no other way to get this fixed then spend time with phone support? I'd like it fixed too, but don't really have time to try to get through to support.

Same issue here. There must be a way to solve for this without having to call in for support. Anyone?
