Hi @user12441. If you're trying to set up a Ring Doorbell in the Ring app and the device appears to be registered to someone else, there are several solutions: 1) If you have contact with the previous owner, you can ask them to uninstall the device from their Ring app. Forward the link to [this page](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038010351-I-would-like-to-take-over-or-change-ownership-of-a-Ring-device) so they know the proper steps they need to take to release the doorbell or security camera for setup. 2) If you have no way to contact the previous owner, our support team can contact them on your behalf via email. [Make sure you have the latest version of the Ring app to see if you can initiate the device transfer in the app.](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/204384784-Downloading-and-Updating-the-Ring-App) When you go through the setup process in the Ring app, follow the prompts to [request ownership](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025997592-Ring-Doorbell-and-Security-Camera-Moving-Guidelines-). If you do not see the option to make a request, and you're sure you have the latest version of the app, please contact our support team at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406-Contact-Us) for further assistance.
