Hi @user68305. Multiple factors affect motion detection, including wifi signal strength, motion settings, and the position and angle at which your device is installed. First, verify that your Doorbell has a strong signal by checking the [RSSI](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Checking-Your-Ring-Device-s-Wifi-Signal-Strength) on the Device Health page. After that, review your [Motion Zones](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/210243483-Using-Camera-Motion-Zones) and Motion Sensitivity to ensure they're set to your liking. If you have a Ring Protect plan, also check your [Smart Alert](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032947972-Refining-Your-Motion-Alerts-for-People-and-Other-Motions) settings. Battery powered devices also have the [Motion Frequency](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Optimizing-Motion-Alerts-with-Motion-Frequency) setting you can change. Lastly, it's recommended for your Video Doorbell to be installed approximately 48 inches above the ground. Installing it lower or higher will negatively impact the motion detection.
