New Ring wired doorbell not picking up motion at night.

Got a new wired doorbell and camera (which I've put in my front living room window) and the doorbell doesn't pick up motion at night where the camera does. I recently had an issue where something was taken off my doorstep @11:30 AM and the doorbell did not pick it up and now not recording at night. Hasn't picked up anything since April 30 and it's now May 3. Got rid of the rechargeable ring doorbell for the wired and still having the same problem. Have adjusted all the settings, more than once, and still having the same issue. Not sure I'll ever get another Ring product if this can't be fixed.
