Just bought a Ring Doorbell wired and it locks up with spinning blue light.

After configuring the RING Doorbell wired device it automatically updated to a new firmware 02/01/2025. After pressing the doorbell a couple of times the doorbell locks up and flashes a continuous spinning blue light on the doorbell button.  When this occurs, the doorbell is dead no longer detecting or sending notifications. Yet you can view its live view video and the RING app shows it online with good signal and good voltage. Resetting it does not fix this bug or defect. So today, I returned it to Home Depot and bought another Doorbell Wired to try out. Guess what? Same thing happens. After a few presses of the doorbell button, it freezes up and the blue light is spinning on the doorbell buttom forever until powered off and on.  What is causing this? The latest firmware update? A hardware issue? Is RING sending corrupt firmware breaking these older cheaper doorbell wired cameras in hopes you will go buy the newer more expensive RING doorbells? I am disappointed in this and can find no help on the internet about what is the cause of the spinning blue light bug even though some people have mentioned the same problem.  I think it is a firmware bug. I hope RING support can answer this with a fix or else everything goes back for a refund including the doorbell transformers I bought to test with. I tried 2 different doorbell transformers. One rated at 24VAC 40A and one rated at 16VAC 30A. Same symtoms regardless of voltage. Just noticed while the doorbell wired unit was in its buggy continuous spinning blue light state, I went to view Liveview video and it showed the live video and the blue light stopped spinning and became a solid blue ring of light. After I stop and exit Liveview on the RING Website, the doorbell cam remains a solid ring of blue light and the camera did not record or send the live view session. The doorbell camera is locked up frozen unresponsive. Pushing the bell button does nothing. It is just not working. Terrible RING!

02/02/2025 - I FOUND A FIX! Chatting with RING support using the RING website was of no help. Rep said I have to call their tech support group by phone. So I took it upon myself to investigate the RING Doorbell wired device linked to the Amazon Alexa app. I noticed that the spinning blue light issue would eventually reset and go back to normal if I left it running for about half an hour.  After which the doorbell functions return and start giving notifications again until I press the doorbell button once again. It hangs spinning the blue light for half an hour and then returns to normal again. So I thought this must be some kind of network response delay not being returned to the doorbell.  Whenever I press the doorbell button my all my 5 Amazon Echo Alexa devices go off announcing the doorbell press. So I disabled Alexa's notifications to all the echo devices and instead programed separate routines to announce "Someone rang the doorbell" to just 3 of my echo devices. WALA~! After that the Ring wired doorbell started working normally! The blue spinning light when the doorbell button is pressed will now spin for about a minute and then return to normal white ring of light.  So if you are having same problem with your doorbell, you can give that a try.
