Hardwired Ring Doorbell - Critical battery

I have a hardwired Ring doorbell 2 now showing critical battery levels and taking itself offline asking me to reconnect to wifi (which is 3 metres away). Not been a problem before now! I have to keep manually charging the battery, and then it only works for a few days, hardwire is clearly not maintaining battery levels. I’ve turned all the features off, and no help. Still does the same. Doing my damn head in.
