Hard wire Ring door bell not working

Hi can anyone please help.So i have been contemplating about hardwiring the Ring to my existing mains door bell which the weekend i managed to do easily enough. Well i thought.I have included the transformer as nothing was happening without so i had read up tried the diffusor thingy bob tried that nothing tried changing it around nothing and well at the nd of my teather,I have read up somwhere that ring had to dial into the settings and change something around, however is this correct or has anyone else had this problem?Much appriciated
