Ring Video Doorbell
Gen 2 doorbell continually going offline
I've had this doorbell since January. The power is hardwired (using the Ring power supply). It now barely stays online. It's connected to a wifi extender that's (at most) 4 feet away from it, but regularly goes offline, leaving the doorbell itself working and sounding, but not alerting anyone. It the current state, it's less than useless. There's no pattern to the times it goes offline, it just appears to do it when it feels like it. Any suggestions would be welcome, as otherwise it's coming out

It’s showing RSSI-55 (in green) and is connected to a 2.4GHz only access point. It sets up fine, stays online briefly, then goes offline shortly after. Occasionally and randomly, it comes back online but only for very brief periods. Both “chimes” stay online all the time, it’s just the doorbell itself that’s bordering on the useless just now. No other devices have any problems connecting to wifi. As I said previously, the access point it’s connected to is no more than 4 ft away from the doorbell, and it’s the only thing connected to that AP. So far, it’s done the same thing when connected to the router directly, with a wifi extender and now a brand new AP. Error now is P1-99. Update. Error now P1-65.

CHi @He-who-has-to-knock. The Doorbell being able to connect with a solid signal, but then falling offline, indicates signal instability rather than a weak signal overall. If there are a lot of other devices connected to the wifi area around your Doorbell, that could possibly cause interference. I’d also suggest checking your network settings to see if anything has recently changed. Make sure the ports and protocols used by Ring devices are open on your network as well. If this issue persists, please reach out to our support team for further assistance.

Hi @He-who-has-to-knock. What is the RSSI for this device? This is found in the Device Health section of the Ring app. Is this device connected to a 5GHz network? Does your router have automatic network switching?
