Factory Reset footage

I purchased a house that had a ring on it. I never activated it, but the previous owner told me he factory reset it. Today I believe i left something valuable on top of my car before driving off. I read online that even after factory resets, the ring continues to record. I activated the ring and created this account, but it has no prior capture history. I didn't know if maybe I needed to sign up for a plan to get that history? I really need it...
