Ring Video Doorbell
dsl and Ring
Ring devices and DSL networks I am helping a friend get his ring doorbell and spotlight camera connected to the network. We have the same issue with both. Following directions we get to the point where the device is connected to WI-FI. after a few seconds, the bar graph shows 95% complete, then stops. The app says “just wait get a up of coffee” then says “almost done” then says failed. If we create a hotspot with the Android, the connection completes and works fine. We can then connect the Ring device to the DSL network one time and it works, but if the link breaks it will not reconnect. We have tried both Ring devices with the same result. We have tried 2 different networks at different locations with the same result. Both dsl. We have logged into the Ring app on an ipad, with the same result . Tests have been done at both locations in close proximity to the modem/router. Help wil be appreciated.

Hi @user_0177da. First, make sure you have the correct Ports and Protocols setup. Next, make sure you are using these wifi channels. Lastly, make sure that you are not using a VPN, or that your network is using security protocols that could block the setup. You may have to contact your ISP to change your firewall settings to allow the Ring device.
