Ring Video Doorbell
Doorbell casing peeling off after less than a year
I bought the gen 2 video doorbell in bronze less than a year ago and the outside of it is peeling and bubbling. I phoned customer service as it’s still within warranty and they told me that the warranty is only for software which is disappointing. I pointed out that the product should not be damaged after less than a year of normal use and was told that as I’d bought a model which was released a few years ago, improvements had been made and I should upgrade to a newer one. If ring is aware of these issues, why did they let me buy the faulty model? I was offered a discount to get a newer model but I don’t want to fork out for another one so soon! Really disappointed *edited to add photo*

Hi Justin, I did phone the support team and they told me that it wasn’t covered under warranty as it’s not software. They just told me to upgrade to a newer model and offered me a discount. I don’t see why I should have to upgrade when I bought this a year ago, if there are issues with this model (which I’ve since found out there are, specifically with the bronze coating) why was is still for sale?
