Direct wire TWO Doorbell Plus / Video Doorbell Pros to bypass Mechanical Chime
hardwired-video-doorbell

Hi, I’ve searched both online and in this forum and I find conflicting advice for this scenario. I have 2 Doorbell Plus / Video Doorbell Pros and want to remove the mechanical chime.     The diagrams Ring provides show a Pro Power Kit with a Bypass Mode, but my V3 PPKs do not have that. I also see advice that neither a Pro Power Kit nor a resistor is required — just directly connect the Transformer and Front wires together. If I have 2 doorbells, do I simply wire Transformer, Front, and Back wires together, with no Pro Power Kit involved? Thanks

Hi @user_c91a8e. If you take a look at this Help Center article here, you'll see how to bypass your Chime kit using the Pro Power Kit. Let me know if this helps!

Hi Tom,  thank you for the response, but that is the article I was referring to in my post that is misleading. It refers to a Pro Power Kit with a bypass mode, and my pro power kit V3 does not have that.

Hi @user_c91a8e. For your installation you will want to follow the wiring diagram titled "Two Ring Wired Doorbell Pluses to One Transformer" on this page. If you do not have the correct PPKs to do your installation, give our support team a call for further assistance.
