Hi @Lynne9! There are a few things that can factor into a battery draining. The most common is number of events or usage. Having a dozen motion events a day, or live viewing/ answering live view frequently, can drain battery quick. Fine tuning motion settings is the best first step to ensuring you are not receiving excessive motion alerts. Check out battery preservation settings, such as [motion frequency](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency) and [recording length](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040293791-Adjust-the-Video-Recording-Length-on-Your-Battery-Powered-Devices). Signal strength can also play a part in battery life. If there is wifi interference, the device might require more power to communicate. Check out our Community[ post about RSSI](https://community.ring.com/t5/Ring-Device-Tips-and-How-To-s/How-it-Works-Your-Ring-Device-RSSI-Good-vs-Poor/ba-p/751) for tips on optimizing signal strength, and our [post about battery draining](https://community.ring.com/t5/Ring-Device-Tips-and-How-To-s/Device-Tips-Battery-Draining-Quickly/ba-p/1136) for more tips. I hope this helps! :)
