Charging battery

I connected the power from the original doorbell to the terminals on the Ring. Why did I get the email to charge the battery? Doesn’t it charge from the doorbell power?

    Hi @Gotavett. The hardwiring of the Ring Video Doorbell serves as a trickle charger, meaning it maintains the current battery level of your Ring Doorbell. Depending on how many events per day your Doorbell records, you may still need to periodically charge the Doorbell.
