Can't get security screws off!
I can't get either security screw to come off. The head is NOT stripped, I can get the Ring supplied tool in there, both screws spin with no problem, but just don't come out - they just spin in place. I can't get a good grip with pliers because the head of the screw is so thin. I need to change the wifi this connects to, and apparently you can only do this by accessing the orange button on the back of the unit, which I cannot get off. Beyond frustrated.

I have spent months trying to get this taken care of. I have had such bad luck with Ring products that I will never ever buy another one.. Unfortunately, my budget right now won't allow any replacement so I'm stuck. I just ended up taking out my frustration with a hammer and a Flathead screwdriver to pop the panel screws out of the bottom. They looked like they were welded in place and I'm guessing that the hot Florida sun and the cheap plastic this is made of Are the problem. I have contacted ring so many times and their customer service is beyond useless.

I thought I was having the same problem with my security cameras. The one on the back came off fine, but then the same problems as everyone else with the front camera and what seemed like stripped screws. THEN I realized the little screwdriver head flips in the orange handle, and for whatever reason that was the one that fit the front camera and the other end fit the back camera. I probably installed them incorrectly with the wrong screws? Not sure. Just relieved that I didn't have to go to all the trouble everyone else did. Hope this helps a few people.

I was having issues removing one of the security screws. I had already removed and replaced the Ring multiple times before for charging and everytime I made sure not to force the screws beyond a nice hand tightening. Yet, imagine my dismay when today one of the screws was not coming out. It was turning alright, and the screwdriver was having perfect grip on the screwhead. Still, the screw was not unscrewing. After trying some of the solutions shared in this thread without success I pryed out the Ring form the mount. Fortunately since it was only one screw fastening, the device was able to twist around it and it come off.What I found out upon closer examination of the screw left me angry and perplexed at the inadecuacy of design that went into the basics of this device. The screw and the threaded hole were intact, rather, it was the adhesion between the copper alloy threaded sleeve and the plastic housing which failed. The bond between two REMOVABLE threaded hand tightened parts was STRONGER than that that of the supposedly PERMANENT bond between two FACTORY ASSEMBLED parts. This is unacceptable. It could be that the exposure to humidity and temperature changes compromized the glue. Nevertheless, this being the MAIN way this expensive SECURITY device intended for long term outdoor use is secured makes the failure completely UNACCEPTABLE.
