Cannot access existing chime to install jumper - Ring Wired 2021

Hi, I recently purchased a Ring Wired 2021. The directions say to install a jumper in the existing chime. I see the existing chime but can't for the life of me figure out how to access or open it. Is this okay? are there any safety risks / concerns in not installing the jumper? I went ahead and finished installation without the jumper and it seems to work just fine for now.

Hi @triangleman. If the chime kit is connected to the transformer, you should have the jumper cable installed on the chime kit. You can also wire your Doorbell Wired directly to the transformer and disconnect the existing chime kit wires, as outlined in the wiring diagrams [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405783047188-Wiring-Diagrams-for-Ring-Video-Doorbell-Wired-). If the chime kit is disconnected from your transformer, you do not need to use the jumper cable. I hope this helps! :)
