Can I force doorbell pro 2 to use 2.4GHz?
I'm trying to get stronger signal strength through a brick wall to my doorbell pro 2. My RSSI on 5GHz is around -50 which apparently is not good enough for video. **Unfortunately my internet gateway will not let me separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands using individual SSIDs.** I have tried disabling my 5GHz band and completely setting up the doorbell as a new device, but it still connects to the 5GHz band just without internet access. Is there any way, from the ring side, to be able to select one channel or the other? Or do I have two devices that are both too smart for my own good?

Hello.. Google search brought me here. The problem is not solved. The article linked does not address the question. The OP is not asking how to change wifi channels, he is asking if the Wired Doorbell Pro 2 can be set to prefer 2.4ghz and the answer seems to be, No it cannot. Please implement a firmware update that allows customer to choose default (2.4 or 5ghz), 2.4ghz only, 5ghz only. People want to be able to use 2.4ghz since it penetrates surfaces better than 5ghz. But if someone's wifi runs both frequencies on the ssid the doorbell will prefer 5ghz even if 2.4 would provide better connection. Some people can create a new SSID on their wifi equipment that only runs 2.4ghz just for this purpose, but most people can't and even for me who can, it is an unnecessary complexity to have to go through. Thanks.
