I recently purchased a 2nd generation Bell and Power unit. These are supposed to be compatible but the voltage label on the bell says 8-24vac and the output on the power pack is 24vdc, can these be used together as it seems to work ok?

Hi @Stevieg. Would you be referring to the [Plug-In Adapter](https://ring.com/collections/accessories/products/video-doorbell-plugin-adapter-gen-2)? If you are, then this is the correct accessory for the Ring Doorbell Gen 2. If you are using a traditional doorbell [transformer](https://ring.com/collections/accessories/products/hardwired-transformer), you'll want to make sure that it is in VAC, not VDC. I hope this information helps!

Isn't the problem that the Power pack is incorrectly specified as vdc. This power pack is also recommended by Ring as an external power source for the new Ring external Siren, which requires vdc. It cannot be both vac and vdc.
