  Good question, @ducknutts! The [Indoor/ Outdoor Power Adapter](https://ring.com/collections/accessories/products/indoor-outdoor-power-adapter-barrel-plug) can certainly be used with a quick release battery also inserted in your Stick Up Camera (3rd Gen). When using both power methods, the power adapter will be the primary power source and the battery will be there for back up. The power supplied to your Camera will also charge the battery if needed.   To expand on this as all of the support articles are so vague: If the cam is in battery mode and you plug in an adapter, will it charge the battery without having to reconfigure the cam to wired mode? I.e. can you simply use the adapter as an inline charger?

  Hi @Burai. As Marley said in his previous post, that is correct! Using the Power Adapter will charge the battery on your Camera as well. There are no additional settings you need to change or adjustments you need to make as the Power Adapter will act as the main source of power for your Stick Up Cam and will charge the battery if needed, but the battery is there to act as back-up. :)
