Stick up cam freezes after motion detection
Hi - I've had my battery stick up cams for over a year, and recently they've both started freezing at random. Following a motion detection, they start recording (but video only reflects a couple of seconds of motion). Footage afterwards is marked a "unavailable" but blue light on camera stays on, draining the battery. Device health in app still shows as "Online". I can reset by removing and reinserting the battery, but defeats the purpose of having security cameras if I never know whether they're actually detecting motion or not! Firmware on both cameras is showing as up to date. Any help appreciated

This may be a little lengthy, but I had a similar issue with my Stick Up Cam battery. I have 2 stickup cam battery cameras. One is powered indoors and keeps the battery charged and the other is outdoors battery only. I swap batteries between the two when the outdoor camera battery gets low. On my outdoor camera battery only, I started getting a very short videos follow by frozen picture and then it progressed to video not recording correctly. Battery was fine. WIFI signal was strong. If I tried to view live video, it would start and immediately freeze and disconnect after about 5 seconds. I tried everything including moving it within 12 inches of my WIFI router. Nothing helped. Reset it, changed the battery, totally deleted and reinstalled it, moved it to another WIFI network in my house and nothing helped. Decided to try to hook it to my power cord for my indoor stick up and low and behold, all the problems cleared up and started working normal. I removed the power cord and it immediately started having the same issues. I pulled the battery and used a Q-Tip with alcohol and cleaned the terminals inside the camera where the battery connects as well as the terminals on the battery and it totally fixed the issue. I am curious if others having similar issues might find this to solve their problems.

Hi @albany81. You can try to reset your Stick Up Cam to see if that provides any improvement. You can reset it by pressing and holding the setup button for 20 seconds. Once you've allowed it to reboot, you can [reconnect](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034825092-How-to-Reconnect-Your-Ring-Device-to-Wifi-or-Change-Your-Wifi-Network) it to wifi and see if normal operation has returned. If doing this didn't improve anything, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times.
