Stick Up Cam doesn’t detect wanted motion.

I bought my first ring item yesterday, the stick up cam battery 2nd gen, and it’s fantastic despite one major problem! It doesn’t actually detect motion in the area it’s viewing. I purchased it because my tires were found slashed recently and I want to be able to see if anyone is snooping around my vehicles or parking in my spot when they’re not suppose to again. The camera is placed to view my side yard (where I park both my cars and have visitors park) and I set privacy boxes to cut off the street. It still notifies me anytime a car drives by (because the lighting changes) but will not notify me whenever I actually drive around/pull in or out, or walk in the side yard. If it can’t do it for me then how am I suppose to expect it to notify me when it’s someone else? the camera view does include the whole area and sensitivity is set to a little over half. I don’t have motion detection turned off in any areas of the view either. It picks up the trees moving a bit, shadows from passing cars, and even feet of people walking down the road but not me in plain sight.

Hi @Keclectic. One of the settings that might be causing intermittent motion detection could be [Motion Frequency](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency). Try adjusting this to Frequent to see if that improves the motion detection. If it doesn't, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support. Let me know if this helps!
