Spotlight Cam Pro not charging off of Solar Panel automatically
Hello, would anyone be able to assist me with the problem I am having? I live in Ruskin, Florida (so I get plenty of direct sunlight throughout the day). My setup is I have a Ring Stick Up Cam Pro connected to a 4W Ring 2nd Generation Solar Panel in the front of the house, and a Ring Spotlight Cam Pro (with 2 battery packs) connected to a 4W Ring 2nd Generation Solar Panel in the back of the house. The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro charges properly, whenever the sun is out, and it goes below the threshold, it starts charging. However, the issue is that the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro will not charge automatically, even when both batteries are in the 25% range (see pictures). I must disconnect the cable and then reconnect the cable each time I want it to charge (which totally defeats the purpose of having a solar panel). Once I do the disconnect/reconnect the charging works fine until sundown, the next morning the same thing, it won’t start charging again until I disconnect/reconnect the cable. Given that it charged perfectly once I disconnect/reconnect, I know it isn’t a dirty/misaligned solar panel or a faulty cable/battery. Things I have tried, jamming the cable into the back (someone on here stated that fixed their issue), adding a new battery, and moving the units (tried the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro with the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro’s solar panel, and vice versa…Spotlight Cam Pro only charged the initial time, Stick Up Cam Pro charged fine every time). Nothing has worked yet. Is it just a faulty Ring Spotlight Cam Pro (or since it seems to be widespread, is there a firmware issue)? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! After disconnecting and reconnecting the cable it charges.

Hi @user_3e15c3. Thank you for sharing the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. I'd recommend trying a reboot using the reboot option on the Device Health page, then monitoring the Spotlight Cam Pro to see if it charges from the Solar Panel. If it's not charging after the reboot, you can also fully reset the camera by holding down the setup button for 20 seconds. After the reset is complete, walk through a new setup in the Ring app using the steps under Set Up a Device.
