Ring Floodlight continuously blinks lights after an automatic update

My Ring camera floodlight (hard wired) went through an automatic software update and then started to blink the lights on/off continuously. I tried pressing and holding the reset button on top of the camera and also tried completely powering off/on the unit but it keeps blinking. It’s now useless and Ring customer care says they can’t do anything because it’s out of warranty; so, they’ll only offer a discount on new one. Anyone else having this issue? My floodlight is not that old so having to replace it seems ridiculous!
