Ring door bell and stick up camera running constantly without showing people

Is anyone else experiencing the motion detection running continuously and missing pertinent information like packages suddenly appearing on porch, but can't see who placed it there?

Hi @59greendragon , It sounds like maybe your "Continuously Running" video effect is the "Snapshot" feature is enabled, and you are mistaken these as a motion-activated video. Snapshots are "still' low resolution (640 X 360) photographs, that are taken at the set regular intervals. These are not motion-activated, but rather continuously taken pictures. These would appear like a "fast-motion, time-lapse" video on your Timeline screen. During playback, you would notice the minutes rapidly clicking by. But these Snapshots do not appear in your Event History. With the Ring Protection Plan, these Snapshots are stored in the Ring Cloud for up to 7 days, or until they are overwritten when max storage capacity is reached. Battery operated devices can only store a maximum of 2.5 MB and powered devices 30 MB worth of snapshots. Once this limit has been reached, the oldest snapshots will be overwritten by newer ones. The good news is that you can download these Snapshots before they are overwritten. Here are links for more information about the "Snapshot" feature: [https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034443672-Using-Your-Snapshot-Capture-Feature](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034443672-Using-Your-Snapshot-Capture-Feature) [https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034355652](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034355652) If it is not the Snapshot feature that you are experiencing, but rather it is truly running continuous video recordings, that is not normal and you should telephone Ring Support: [https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036196372-Get-in-Touch](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036196372-Get-in-Touch) Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19, their available support hours have been changed also: [https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041597471-Ring-s-Response-to-COVID-19](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041597471-Ring-s-Response-to-COVID-19) I hope you find this information useful :)
