ring app keeps telling me its now plugged in and persistently asks me If I want to switch to wired mode

I have a ring spotlight cam and its been working fine for weeks. its been plugged into a solar panel. after the first few weeks of having it, it started sending me a notification saying "porch kitchen is now plugged in. Want to switch it to wired mode?" What do you mean it's NOW plugged in? Its BEEN plugged in for weeks to the solar panel, so why does it keep asking me this? so i click the notification and all it does is take me to the main menu of the porch kitchen camera. so that happened WEEKS ago, now its happening again over and over. please fix this bug.

If you're experiencing this issue, please reboot your camera using the reboot option on the Device Health page in the Ring app. After the reboot is done, check the power mode to ensure it is not set to wired mode. If you continue to receive notifications about switching to wired mode after trying these steps, please follow up with our support team @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram. A member of our social support team can take a closer look, and escalate this issue if necessary.

Hi @rachelcenter. To confirm, is this a Spotlight Cam Battery with a Ring Solar Panel connected to it? Do you see an option to dismiss this notification? I'd recommend performing a reboot from the Device Health page in the Ring app. Let me know if the reboot helps.

i never got an email saying you responded. this is the first I'm seeing this message now that i'm logged back in. how do i get email notifications telling me you responded? I havent seen the issue since I wrote this post. Could it have been a bug on your end?

@rachelcenter Unfortunately, the Ring Community does not support email notifications at this time. I'm glad to hear you haven't encountered this issue again since! Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but this is exactly what's happening with my brand new third generation stick up cam. Rebooted multiple times but still getting the message intermittently, and no way I can see to stop the notification. I also noticed there's a little bar on the battery icon when the message comes up, which I assume is related to the solar kicking on.

Hi @Grassflats2. Are you able to dismiss the notification? It's not recommended to use Wired Mode if your camera is battery powered, even with a Ring Solar Panel attached, as it would drain the battery too quickly.

@caitlyn_ring I hope you can institute this email notification as a feature in the near future. It is needed.

@Caitlyn_Ring Im not aware that I put it in wired mode. I just know i put the batteries in (fully charged), plugged it into a solar panel and the warnings wont go away and before I know it I'm getting an alert while I'm out of town that the battery is low 10% even though I charged it before I left. if you dismiss the notification it just keeps coming back

I have the same issue with a Ring Stick camera plugged into a solar panel.  It isn't in wired mode, there is no way to dismiss and stop the notifications.  I have multiple cameras all configured the same way and this is the only one that has this bug.
