Retrieving footage when not subscribed

I had a 3 hour gap when not subscribed to ring protect (we just got the camera and our free trial had expired), and I had something stolen from my porch. Is there any way to retrieve that one piece of motion footage? The reason I subscribed was to "view the footage," yet after subscribing it can now not be retrieved. thank you. James
