POE Elite camera issue
troubleshooting

I recently bought two new Stick up Cam Elite with POE cameras.  One for each side of my house.  Both cameras are located at the back of the house on each side and I would like to get motion at the front on each side.  On the Garage side the camera works perfectly.  It gets all the motion without any issue (past the gate and past the front of the garage).  However, on the other side it only picks up motion about half the way down the side of the house.  It picks up nothing near the front and I have no idea why.  I have created the proper zone - (even deleted and retried again) and have the same settings for each side (Smart Alerts/ Person) and high sensitivity.  The cat wiring is the same length (100 feet).  If you look at the image on the non working side (motion is only picked up at the second window grate) see image.  I have even included a photo of the zone image.  The height of the camera is within a few inches on each side and the angle is roughly the same.    I also have a third camera that does not work properly on the bad side.  Help!!

I don't see my photos.  How do I insert them? (they were present before I hit "post")

Hi @Mike1967. I have a few questions that will help me provide troubleshooting tips.   First, what is the height the Stick Up Cam Elite is mounted at?   Next, have you tried any other angles or camera positions to see if that improves your Motion Detection?   From the looks of things, the camera appears to be mounted just a bit too high. I would also suggest angling the camera slightly more away from the wall, giving you a view that has less of the brick wall. I'm looking forward to assisting you with this!

Its about 11-12 feet high.  I have tried to change the angles - away from the wall up/down.  nothing seems to work.  I'm going to try to face it the other way (facing away from the house) and see how far it works left/right.  The only thing I see is the there are trees (on the neighbors side) in the distance (when comparing the two cameras) that is different.  very weird.

I moved it about 18 inches lower and that was much better.  Also, our pool heater is located there and I'm wondering if that can have a negative affect on the camera's ability to detect motion (it has a hard time seeing past this wall of heat that is present??)

Hi @Mike1967, chiming in for Tom here. I'm glad to hear moving the Stick Up Cam lower seemed to help! It's possible the pool heater could cause some issues, particularly when it's in use. I'd suggest monitoring the camera's performance at the new mounting height to see how it does.
