Missing footage
I have lost 30 minutes or more of footage that had plenty of movement occurring during this specific time. However, the camera did not record anything. I tested the camera by doing exactly the same thing as before and this time it was recorded! Can footage be wiped by anyone? I don’t believe there was a glitch? Unless Ring can look into this specific camera. Tried contacting them but there is never anyone on I’ve chat! Does Ring have Live chat??

Hi @user14003. Ring Cameras do not record continuously, only when motion is detected or when you activate a Live View. When you say that you have lost 30 minutes or more of footage, do you mean there was a 30 minute window of time in which no motion was detected and there is nothing in your Event History at this time? I'd recommend checking the following settings:- Review your [Modes settings](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036107792-Control-All-your-Ring-Devices-with-Modes) to ensure that Motion Detection is turned on. If it's turned off in a specific Mode, your Camera will not detect or record motion in that Mode. - If you have a battery powered Camera, check your [Motion Frequency](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency) settings as well. - Check your [Motion Zones](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/210243483-Utilizing-Motion-Zones-with-your-Ring-Devices) to make sure they cover the areas you want to be notified about motion in. Additionally, only you as the owner can delete any events from the Event History. If you have any privacy concerns related to your account, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support.

I've had the same issue. Ring camera is plugged in. Crane/tree work in my driveway (lots of people moving around in the detection zone). Lot of recordings during the work, then there is about 25 minute period with "no motion detected" (no video), and the crane is gone in the next recording. Should be at least 10 minutes of video of the crane packing up and leaving, people moving and cleaning up the yard space

ULooking at footage from yesterday. From 4 to 515 pm. No video of my daughter and a friend getting dropped off in our driveway. No video of me walking to and from the garage multiple times, no video of my daughter and her friend going out to the yard, but video of them returning from the pool wrapped in towels. Wifi was definitely working because my phone was smoothly streaming videos while in my garage (near zero cell signal, so phone is on wifi) The lack of footage is concerning. Leaves me wondering if anything important has been missed, or might be missed in the future

THi @user_46efe8. In order to dive into this issue, we need some more information about the device. What model device is this and what is the RSSI? This information can be found in the Device Health menu of the Ring app. Also, how do you have your Motion Settings, such as Motion Frequency, configured?
