Is 7 ft too low for Ring Floodlight camera plus
hardwired-security-cameras
HI. This is my first post. I ordered a couple Ring floodlight cams to replace a floodlight on my garage and another one on my patio. One is 85" center of box and the other is 82" center. I don't want to cut anymore boxes into the garage or siding on the house. Do you think my existing box heights will be adequate? I know Ring recommends 9ft. Thanks. Randy

Hi @Ree56. You are correct that 9 feet is the recommended mounting height, as it ensures a wide visual area is covered. An installation height of 7 feet should still be okay since that's where your existing junction box is. Make sure the motion sensor on the bottom of the Floodlight Cam is level with the ground.
