How do you turn off flood lights on Camera off so motion does not turn them back on?

So I have been loving my Ring floodlight cams and my single floodlight. I have them set on a schedule, which means my wife always has light out back. My problem is when we want to sit in the back yard with no lights on (starwatching/watching lightning) the flood lights keep coming on. I have tried to turn off the lights manually, but the second one detects motion, theyu come back on. Is there a way to manually turn off the floodlights without cutting power to the whole system?

Hey @darbywpd. For the nights when you need the lights to not come back on for an extended period of time, you can adjust the Motion Zones for the Lights so that it will either rarely come on, or not at all. This will be done in the Ring app \> Main Menu \> Devices \> Floodlight Cam \> Device Settings \> Light Settings \> Motion Zones for Lights. If you turn the sensitivity to minimum, it can trigger within a 5ft radius. In addition, you can disable the three zones in here, thus rendering it with no zones to watch over. Make sure you change your settings back after the fact so you do not have to worry about things having to be super close to set the lights to come on! :)

Your solution doesn’t work. I’ve done that and everything else including rebooting everything. It’s still daytime here and the lights keep going on. However, when I want them on and to stay on they go off. What are you going to do about this or even acknowledge that you have a problem instead of dragging people thru a script that doesn’t work.

I'm guessing you're talking about the floodlight cam. Mine works as stated. I can turn off the motion zones and they stay off. I can also turn it on for a set amount of time or time period by scheduling. If this is not working, I'd reach out to customer service. They'd be much more able to help troubleshoot than the support staff here. Information on customer support below. Still looking for this in 2021. Here’s what worked for me. Three line menu, upper left corner | Devices | Security Cameras: [camera name] | Device Settings | Light Settings | deselect Motion-Activated Lights You must switch back on manually to restore motion-activated feature.
