Floodlight Cam Wired Pro motion detection too sensitive

The motion detection of my floodlight is too sensitive. It keeps turning on when I’m in the room adjacent to the area where it is installed outdoors and thus creating very distracting feeling. Any way to fix this issue? FYI I have Floodlight Cam Wired Pro, and right now I’m reading in the living room next to my backyard and the floodlight keeps turning on even though I have blinds and lying down of sofa but still this stupid light keeps turning on every 10-15 seconds!!

Hi @user31333. I would suggest by adjusting the Light Settings. You can do this in the Ring app under the Device Settings menu. You can also setup a Light Schedule for times you don't want to activate the lights. You can learn about that feature [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019494811-Using-Light-Scheduling-on-Your-Floodlight-Cam). Let me know if this is helpful!

I had disabled the schedule but the light was being triggered way too easily when it detected motion. I had to adjust the zones and that helped.

Why doesn’t anyone properly answer this question. This has been going on for way too long. Ring, for the last time… it is not a setting that will resolve this issue. We know we can turn the lights off or even add a schedule and we appreciate the common sense responses for the last year, but seriously, how can this be resolved? I will explain for the 17,478 time. We all want the lights to come on if it detects motion, but the light turns off and on all night long even when they’re isn’t motion. Think of it this way…every three minutes for the entire night your front door neighbor stands at his front door and turns his outdoor front patio light on and then off using a switch inside.. yeah, you would be pissed at him. Well, that’s happening to so many people and we want it resolved. I don’t want a schedule or I don’t want to turn it off since that 100% defeats the whole purpose of your product. If someone is waking up to my house adhering the night, I want the lights to go off to help deter them. Please tell a developer since this is a complex issue. Maybe the sensor for the light is too sensitive?

Same issue here. Installed the product two days ago and every night that light goes on and off without any real movement. The sensing appears to be too sensitive. Already lowered to minimum, and changed the zones... What else to stop this?

Exactly!!! I totally agree. My wired floodlight cams are driving me crazy (and I imagine my neighbors do not like them turning on and off either)

I don’t need to talk to someone in support, we just need you to fix a known issue. Quit kicking the can down the road. It’s not goin to fix itself.

I totally agree. I am beyond frustrated with my Ring wired floodlight cams turning on and off constantly. I have two in my backyard and they are driving me crazy. One is unfortunately near the exhaust for my dryer so the light turns on and off multiple times when the exhaust comes out. I think that it is triggered by the heat of the exhaust via the light sensitivity of the light and not by the motion sensor but I am not sure. The other wired flood light cam I have in my backyard gets triggered over and over again whenever it rains and sometimes during snow. That particular light is on the side of my house and it is not covered by any roof overhang. Maybe the fact there is no roof overhang over that light is playing a part in the problem, but who knows? Regardless, the light should not be triggered by the rain. During a heavy rain storm the light literally will go on and off all night until the rain stops. I have tried ALL the suggestions from Ring and what I have learned on this message board and other places on the internet, but they did not resolve the issues I am having with these lights. I am very frustrated. I honestly could not recommend this product. I have a regular Ring wired Motion floodlight (no camera) and it works fine. As I said, I suspect the problem I am having with the wired floodlight camera near my dryer exhaust is the light sensitivity function. I wish I could be able to TOTALLY turn off the light sensitivity—-and just have the regular motion sensor on for my floodlight camera near my dryer exhaust (so it operates more or less like the Floodlight Motion light without the camera)…please do this Ring. But even if I was able to turn off the light sensitivity totally, that would likely not help me as to my other light that gets triggered over and over again by the rain. It is beyond my comprehension as to why that light gets triggered over and over (and over) just from the rain. I cannot put these lights up myself and need to get an electrician to do it, so any change costs me a lot. To make matters worse for me, when I had the electrician install my lights, I had him make the manual switches inside my house into “dummy” switches to prevent the lights from being put off line in case someone turned the switch off by mistake. So now I cannot turn the lights off manually to prevent them from turning on and off over and over again if my dryer is on at night or if it rains at night. I guess I am the real “dummy” I regret getting involved with this product. It cost me a lot of money and causes me a great deal of frustration. Help me Ring !!!
