Floodlight Cam Pro (wired) - mounting instruction discrepancy about eaves
I just purchased a Ring Floodlight Cam Pro (wired) to replace an old light fixture out on my lanai. On the page for this device on the Ring site, there are multiple mentions of under-eave installations being supported (under tech specs and the FAQ): https://ring.com/products/floodlight-cam-pro. The paper instructions included with the camera also have a section for under-eave (i.e., ceiling) mounting and even the label on the back of the device says "wall mount or covered ceiling mount only." However, when going through the installation tutorial in the app, one of the very first screens says: "Floodlight Cams can't be mounted to eaves. Mounting to eaves can cause water damage from runoff. Choose a location on a vertical wall." I went ahead and installed the floodlight cam replacing the existing fixture and everything went fine. But I'm concerned as to why the app would say this. P.S. Apparently in this "new improved" version of the community forums I can't add screenshots or attachments ... why was that feature removed?
