Does the ring spotlight cam plus wired kit require a transformer?

I'm switching my spotlight cam plus cameras from batterry to mains using the wired kit. The instructions say i can use a 240v feed. If the camera does not require a transformer does it have one built into it? How does the 240V input drop to 5V DC?
