Can I use the Stick Up Cam Wireless as “wired”?

I have a battery Stick Up Cam. I know it has an AC adapter input, but if I get one and plug it in will it essentially work as normally as a “wired” camera, until for example my power goes out and it’ll switch to the default wireless?
