Ring Security Cameras
Camera Quality Degraded Since End of Year Updates
Since the last end of year Ring update that brought changes to the Dashboard and 24/7 recording, almost half of our camera’s quality have become degraded and fuzzy. Have even tried power-cycling the cams, re-setting the cams, and restarting our mesh routers with 1GB Fiber service. Never had this problem before. Seems to affect our indoor non-battery cameras the most. New Ring Indoor Cam 2nd Gen and New Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cams. Those cams affected also have a signal quality of 40 or less. So, should not be a problem. Anybody else having the same issues? Thank you! 🙏🏻

More context: We have the issue on iPhones and iPads. The recordings on our end are also with the resolution issues so definitely with the cameras. We unplugged the power from the power-connected ones (Indoor cam 2nd gen, new Pan-Tilt Indoor) and used the battery ones (stick-up cam battery). No resolution issues whatsoever with those! Plugged back in the power-connected cams and the resolution issues came back on those. Removed/reset and re-added these from the Ring app. Also, power-cycled routers. Half were OK and the other half already had the resolution issues. The half that was OK later on had the resolution issues again. Seems to be only with those cameras that are connected to power (new Pan-Tilt Indoor cam, Indoor cam 2nd gen). 😑
