Why does Ring Protect Plus plan want a billing address?

I’m considering subscribing to this Protect Plus plan for all my Ring cameras but I’m at a loss to understand why I must provide a billing address along with credit card info. Naturally I get mighty annoyed with the constant attemps by companies trying to get my personal information when in fact they don’t need it.I expect a receipt would be emailed to me since I am, after all, using the online portal to subscribe.Can anyone clarify why this “billing address” is demanded by Ring and for what purpose they want it?
