Unable to sign up for protection plan

I'm trying to add a protection plan but it shows "No Ring Protect Plan Needed" for my device. I can view live from the app but I would like to have a protection plan so I can view past activity.

    To subscribe to a Ring Protect plan, please follow the instructions outlined here. I’d recommend following these steps on a web browser from a desktop or laptop computer for the best experience. If you do not have a Ring device set up yet, or you are the Shared User of a device, you will not be able to subscribe to a Ring Protect plan. If you’re the owner of the Ring device and you’re still unable to subscribe after following the steps above, please reach out to our support team at one of the numbers available here.       I am try8ing to sign up for the basic plan and every time i try to purchase I am unable to purchase anything. THe "purchase now" button is grey and not highlighted. Help?!
