Ring Home Plan
Cannot sign up for ring Protect Plan
When I go to subscribe to ring protect plan I get the following. See photo. I thought maybe it was because I was on a shared account, but I went and removed the shared camera. It is very frustrating that this is so difficult. Any advice?

Hi @lpoley! In order to subscribe for a Protect Plan, you must be the owner of a Ring account and Ring device(s). Understanding that you are trying to subscribe to your own account, this can only be done if a Ring device that you own is also setup and existing on your account. A shared device will not allow you to subscribe as the subscription would not apply to a device that is setup and owned on your Ring account. If you are the listed owner of a Ring device in your Ring app, and the subscription is still not applying, please ensure the proper location is also selected if applicable. If you are needing further assistance with subscribing your Ring device, Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). If you are outside of the US, please see [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support. I hope this helps! :)

LEverything you mentioned I was already aware of. This account was a shared account at one point. The device was completely removed and no plans or devices are linked to this account. It still will not let me purchase a plan. You also mention needing a device on your account to do this? This is odd as your site also says I need to have a plan to get the 10% discount on the products I order..... I am very busy and phone is an option but not a good one. I find it odd that you all do not offer chat as most organizations do. Please provide steps to resolve this issue.

MThank you for the update @lpoley. It sounds like you are attempting to purchase the Protect Plan without a Ring device present, in which only the person designated as owner of a location can alter a Ring Protection Plan. Our [help center article about changing and upgrading Protect Plans](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022109431-Upgrading-Changing-or-Canceling-your-Ring-Protect-Plan) has more information on how to subscribe properly. If your owned Ring device is active on your account, please confirm you are meeting this criteria to apply a Protect Plus discount: - Applies to Neighbors with Protect Plus at the time of purchase. - Applies to all Ring-manufactured devices (primary, secondary, and bundles.) - Discount does not apply retroactively. - Discount may not be combined with other offers (e.g. - Cyber Monday / Black Friday, military, and Prime Day promos). - Discount is non-transferable. - Does not apply to Ring Assist +, third-party devices sold on Ring.com, or non-Ring products. - You cannot subscribe to the plan and use the 10% discount in the same transaction. - Discount applies upon the next login session from purchase. To use the discount immediately, log out of your account and log back in. - You must be logged in to use the discount on Ring.com during checkout. - The discount will not be applied when you are on the free trial unless you subscribe to Ring Protect Plus during the trial. Check out our [help center article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003266066-Combining-Multiple-Discount-Offers-10-Ring-Protect-Discount-on-a-Ring-Purchase) about this discount for more information on eligible items and criteria.

LDid you miss the part about there not being any devices on this account? You keep mentioning owner (me) of my account (no devices attached to account) and locations. Can you provide information for the "location" you are referencing? See Attachments.

LIt sounds like I need to purchase a ring device at full price. Then purchase a ring protect plan, then purchase the remaining ring devices I want at a 10% discount. This is absurd though. This means I need to wait for the first ring device (which is on backorder by the way) to be delivered before even being able to order the rest of the devices I want. Then I will have to wait for those to be delivered. Talk about a gimmick.. Correct me if I am wrong?

I checked every single tab on the phone and desktop web login. All devices are removed, nothing on the account. Still get that page when trying to sign up. Very frustrating. I am trying to purchase 4 devices but want the 10% discount from the plus plan. No chat available from ring support...? Seriously... Any help?
