Remove shared location when not owner
How do I remove myself completely from a shared location? I am not the owner of the shared location. All the posts I found talk about removing a location you own, but since I only have shared access, I can't find a way to remove myself from that location. Note that I do not want to delete the location, I just don't want to have it shared with me anymore. Do I have to reach out to the owner and ask them to remove me?

I wish it was that easy. I tried so many times to delete a account, but because it had an alarm, it would not allow me to delete the account. I had to contact the main person for them to delete the base alarm.

Im in the same boat and No one from Ring can removed a shared account from my main account. My grandmother passed away and she shared her account access with me to my main Ring account. After she passed away, we simply deleted her account and trashed the alarm hardware. well, that should have killed the shared link but it did not. Now I cant get rid of the shared account that has nothing tied to it and im still geting lots pet alerts from the other side of the country... Ring needs to allow the "shred user" to self-remove the shared accounts that they dont want to have access to anymore. Now im stuck with a ghost account....

UI had the same problem. Here’s how I fixed it…. Go to your dashboard view. Click the hamburger in the upper left and go to devices. You should see the old doorbell listed as offline. Click it. Go to Device settings. Then go to General Settings. There should be an option to delete the device which should remove the shared location from your app. Hopefully that helps.

Hi @jon_ring. If you are a Shared User and do not want shared devices, you can just select the device and remove it. Reaching out to owner and having them remove your Shared Access is the quickest and easiest option though.
